Healthy Marriages of Allen County is an
all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting
healthy marriages through education, enrichment, and
support. HMAC assists other community organizations in
developing marriage-strengthening resources for the
couples they serve. In addition, we serve as a marriage
hub—connecting couples interested in strengthening their
marriage with programs and resources in our community.
HMAC coordinated the signing of the
Allen County Community Marriage
Agreement in February, 2008. The purpose of
the signing was for individuals and organizations to
demonstrate their commitment to strengthening marriages.
Please see our
Community Agreement page
for a list of organizations that have made this
commitment and for information on how you can sign this
agreement. This agreement was supported by Fort Wayne’s
Mayor Tom Henry, Congressman Mark Souder, and more than
50 other individuals, churches, and community
organizations.

OUR
HISTORY In
2006, local pastors and community leaders began meeting
to discuss how to improve the quality of marriages as
well as decrease the rates of domestic violence and
divorce. These conversations led to the creation of the
Allen County Community Marriage Agreement as a method of
demonstrating the community-wide support for healthy
marriages. HMAC was incorporated in January, 2008 with a
mission to prepare, enrich, and restore marriages in
Allen County.
